SEIU Local 1 Urges Michigan Board of State Canvassers to Certify 2020 Election Results

Today, SEIU Local 1 members urged the Michigan State Board of Canvassers to certify the results of the 2020 election. The election was secure and fair, and 83 counties have already certified their election results.

Working people decided this election, choosing Joe Biden as our next president. Despite the COVID-19 crisis and the economic downturn, front-line essential workers turned out in record numbers to cast our votes and do our job in upholding our democracy. Now, it’s time the Board of Canvassers do theirs by upholding the will of voters.

The working families of SEIU Local 1 expect the State Board of Canvassers to certify the results of the 2020 election, just as they have done in previous elections. It’s not time to come together, across our differences, to address the issues facing our state.
